This year's technical presentations will cover a variety of topics and be full of valuable information for all roles within our industry. A brief description of each and background on the presenter is provided below:
Keynote Presentation: "Political Issues Impacting Today's Midstream Market"
-Ways to affect change in regulatory policies in order to create more profit margins in an era of lower prices (the strategy for the next four years)
- The outlook for the Clean Power Plan from the Obama Administration
-The 2016 Presidential campaign
Presented by Brad Ayers
Brad Ayers is TransCanada's state and federal government relations director for eight states along the Keystone, Keystone XL, ANR, Gulf Coast and Northern Border pipelines. Prior to joining TransCanada, Brad worked for Encana Oil & Gas in Dallas, and earlier served as president of Legislative Initiatives, LLC, in Washington, DC, for seven years. In 1996, Brad began working in the office of then-Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott (R-MS), and later served for six years as a legislative aide in the U.S. House of Representatives, where his primary areas of focus were energy, trade, labor and foreign affairs. He has worked on nearly a dozen different political campaigns for Governor, U.S. Senate and Congress.
Brad earned a Bachelor of Public Administration from the University of Mississippi and holds a Graduate Certificate of Practice in Corporate Citizenship from Boston College.
Presentation #1: “Survive and Thrive in a Challenging Market – 21st Century Style”
Presented by Anne Keller
Anne Keller is President and Founder of Midstream Energy Group, a consultancy focused on transaction advisory services to the gas midstream and NGL distribution and marketing sectors, private equity investors, operating companies, and banks. Her industry experience includes positions in corporate finance, midstream asset management, NGL supply and trading, and project development with ConocoPhillips and DuPont. She was also Group Manager in the Natural Gas and Utilities section of Jacobs Consultancy, a subsidiary of Jacobs Engineering.
Anne currently works for Wood Mackenzie, Inc. as NGL Research Director. She and her team developed Wood Mackenzie's North American NGL service, which publishes short and long term supply, demand and price forecasts. Anne is a CPA, and currently serves on the Boards of Directors and the Finance and Technical Committees of the Gas Processors’ Suppliers Association. She developed and taught “NGL Fundamentals” courses which have been attended by over 1,000 industry professionals, including an “NGL 101” webinar sponsored by the US Energy Information Administration.
Presentation #2: “Electric Infrastructure & Service Planning: A Key Component in New Development Projects”
Presented by John Bick
John Bick is the Managing Principal of Priority Power Management, LLC (“PPM”), a leading Texas-based independent energy management and consulting services firm. John has 27 years of energy experience. He joined PPM in 2003 and leads the strategy and business development of the firm, as well as providing hands on expertise to large clients. Prior to joining PPM, he was previously Director of Strategic Business Development for TXU Energy, where he was responsible for identifying and developing multi-million dollar, comprehensive energy management and outsourcing engagements across North America.
John holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering from Texas Tech University and has completed Executive Management Programs at Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business and The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Kendall King is a principal and Vice President of Freese and Nichols, Inc. Mr. King has been with Freese and Nichols for 16 years and has over 35 years of engineering experience. Mr. King currently manages Freese and Nichols’ Energy Division serving upstream/midstream Oil and Gas clients and the electric utility market, and has extensive experience leading large program management assignments for energy clients.
